BlueHost - Detailed Overview

Shared Hosting

Shared hosting is the most affordable hosting there is. It is when multiple users share a server to host their websites. It is a great choice for smaller websites or new blogs. The downside to shared hosting is that when someone that shares a server with you, gets a lot of traffic or pulls a lot of resources it can cause sluggishness for the rest of the users on the server.

Cost: $2.95-$13.95 per month.

WooCommerce Hosting

As a WordPress plugin, WooCommerce is mainly used to sell services and products online, it does not matter if these services or products are physical or digital. Building an online store that fits your needs and ideas is much easier when using WooCommerce. It is also made easier to take secure payments, apply taxes accordingly, manage your inventory, and manage shipping. There is even 24/7 support to help you.

VPS Hosting

VPS hosting, short for Virtual Private Server hosting, allows CPU and RAM resources to be directed/dedicated to one account. BlueHost VPS servers are built from the ground with the use of SSD storage. This allows for more control, flexibility, and increase power for your website.

Cost: $18.99-$59.99 per month.

Cloud Hosting

The new cloud hosting solution offer by BlueHost is more affordable, powerful, and easier. It is also:

Safer - Data is mirrored across 3 different devices, should one have issues, the failover tech will automatically designate a copy of your site to keep working, and the other copies will rebuild.

Faster - The cloud hosting platform contains a varnish caching layer and global CDN that insures your server resources are pointed where they should be.

Simpler - They also include a simple, but yet useful cloud hosting dashboard to provide a swift view into page download speed, global reach, usage trends, uptime and so much more.

Bigger - When your online presence gets bigger, you can amplify your cloud usage easily with the click of a button. You can choose to upgrade your plan or add extra RAM and CPU as you need it.

Dedicated Hosting

Dedicated hosting is the hosting option that allows for the most resources, control, allocation, and privacy. These servers are completely isolated from one another, meaning that the users will get the full capability to modify their servers as they see fit without having to worry about affecting someone else.

BlueHost and WordPress - How Well do They Work Together?

BlueHost makes it super easy to install WordPress with a C-Panel that is a breeze to navigate. I would go as far as saying that even a complete newbie should not find it difficult to install WP, it literally only takes a few clicks and your website will be up and running.

BlueHost has a vast amount of WordPress tutorials available to make the platform a breeze to master. In addition, they also have the BluePrint training/guide.

BlueHost is one of only 3 hosting companies that has the recommendation of WordPress.

BlueHost - Pros

Most of the BlueHost plans include unlimited domain hosting, email addresses, bandwidth, and disk storage.

The security features provided by BlueHost are excellent.

BlueHost WordPress hosting is great.

Up-Time is exceptional. Very little downtime and the few times there is downtime, it is usually in a time frame that is not busy in general.

Stream Video is supported by BlueHost.

The cPanel can be easily used and has a lot of fast accessed features.

The BlueRock Platform is a control panel focused on WordPress that offers an integrated experience with WordPress, a great addition in my opinion.

Cons

The marketing service has a 6-month commitment, if you cancel at that time you have to pay a fee of $300.

They may offer cheap sign-ups as low as $2.00, but when you renew or sign up for only a short period the price increases drastically.

They have a new thing called, CPU throttling. This allows them to preserve resources by freezing your CPU usage whenever they think you are using too much of their resources.

Conclusion

Of the thousands of web host companies that exist, BlueHost is one of only 3 that has the recommendation of WordPress. They provide everything from hosting to e-commerce, making it an all in one platform. Like always, start small with one website if you are new to hosting and test the service before upgrading. Each hosting company has different hosting options and they provide well in some while lacking in others. Knowing what type of hosting you want and the service you expect in advance will help you to choose the right company without wasting money. I've been using Bluehost for a year now and honestly i cant wait to switch hosting services. When it comes to Bluehost there is always some kind of bug or technical error that keeps me form doing what I want to do on my account, like last week my emails just stopped working for no reason at all, And to top it all of their customer support is completely useless, They take their time responding to you and when they do its always a user related problem and it takes them hours or days to fix the problem. in my opinion this is one of the worst hosting company's and will be switching to a better one as soon as I can. Hopefully you can suggest a good hosting company for me to try out? Thank you.
